December 13, 1926 - May 2, 2007 On May 2, 2007,
Herb finally lost his vigorous 5 year battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years Jeannette; daughter Barbara (Graham) Fletcher; son Glen (Heidi Schultz); and his two grandchildren of whom he was so fond and proud, Christopher and Michael. He also leaves his sister Patricia (Wilf) Barry; sister-in-law Phyllis Ellis; as well as many friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents May and Herbert; sister Evelyn and brother Ross.
Herb was truly one of the "good guys", a real gentleman remembered by so many friends for his enthusiastic support and efforts on behalf of his colleagues, his community, his charities and church.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Church to which he gave so much of his time and effort; St. Matthias Anglican Church, 6210 - 188 Street on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with our good friend the Reverend Neil Gordon presiding. All of Herb's friends and relatives are invited to attend. Flowers are gratefully declined in favour of donations to Herb's favorite organizations: The Edmonton YMCA Foundation, c/o Jamie Platz YMCA or the St. Matthias Music Fund, c/o 6210 - 188 Street NW, Edmonton, T5T 5T4.
Herb's family gratefully acknowledge and provides our sincere thanks for the care and efforts of Dr. Andrew Belch and the wonderful dedicated staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton, for giving us these extra years with Herb.
